Baci di dama biscuits πŸ˜

The Baci di Dama biscuits are a speciality of Piedmont, the region where I come from.

They are made with hazelnuts, chocolate and butter. They are easy to make and quite addictive πŸ˜†

RECIPE (Ricetta in Italiano sotto)

INGREDIENTS:

  • 150 gr of flour
  • 100 gr of hazelnuts
  • 100 gr of dark chocolate
  • 100 gr of sugar
  • 100 gr of butter
  • 1 egg

PREPARATION:

  1. Cut butter into chunks and incorporate into flour, crushed hazelnuts, the egg and sugar until it becomes completely mixed together.
  2. Place dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. Then take it out and form small balls.
  3. When placing them on the cookie sheet, press down slightly so that they are flattened on one side. They will form a dome shape: flat on one side, rounded on the other.Bake at 150 degrees, for about 10 minutes, or until they just start to become slightly darker.
  4. After the cookies have cooled spread a thin layer of melted chocolate on the flat side of the cookie and place another cookie on top, making a sandwich.
